Membership to the Northeast Cotillion is open to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who attend schools in the Saint Petersburg area. The sixth grade committee sends out invitations to all known, eligible youth entering the sixth (6th) grade. Invitations for seventh and eighth grade youth are sent to those who participated the previous year. Additional invitations are sent to those on the 7th & 8th grade waiting list one week following the mailing of invitations for returning students. Additional students may be invited should there be available space and at the committee’s discretion.
Invitations will be sent out in August/ September and returned within one month of receipt.
The maximum number of youth that may be accepted is 100 per grade. All efforts will be made to keep the boy/girl ratio equal. If the maximum number of responses to invitations prior to the deadline exceeds 100, a waiting list will be formed, if necessary.
Children of any one committee member actively serving on any current Northeast Cotillion Committee will be automatically enrolled.
Placement for the program is based upon first come, and those responding after all spaces have been seated will be placed on a waiting list. Those on the waiting list should receive a number from their committee coordinator denoting his/her placement on the waiting list. Should a spot become available in the program, these children will be accepted according to their placement on the waiting list. As we generally have a waitlist for each grade, it is important to let your grade level coordinator know if you are unable to attend a scheduled event. Too many absences may result in your child being dismissed from Cotillion.
Confirmation letters will be sent out to those who were selected. Refunds and regret letters will be sent to those who were not chosen along with notification that they are on the waiting list.
Membership is $170
If you live in the St Petersburg area and would like your child to be added to the list of invitations, please see the contact page on this website for the appropriate coordinator of your child's grade.
